PHYSIOTHERAPY
Personalised physiotherapy sessions
shaped around each individual
Using physiotherapy to enhance the lives of children and adults with additional needs
At Links Therapy, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalised physiotherapy services to support mobility and motor skills, while helping to improve and maintain overall physical wellbeing.
Who do our physiotherapists work with?
- Individuals with neurological and genetic conditions, including cerebral palsy, brain injuries, syndromes, muscular dystrophies and atrophies.
- People with delayed motor development, for example, poor balance and coordination, postural and core stability weakness and delayed motor skill milestones.
- Those with learning difficulties and associated physical difficulties.
- Individuals with physical rehabilitation needs following surgery.
What is physiotherapy?
There’s not a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to physiotherapy. Instead, we explore creative and innovative ways to deliver our services, to ensure each individual gets the most from each session.
Some examples of the activities that we might work together on include:
- Exercises and games: used to learn and practise a new skill, or to regain strength and movement.
- Problem solving specific physical difficulties, working with everyone involved to find a successful solution
- Hydrotherapy: Using the benefits of warm water to help ease pain and maintain joint mobility
What does Physiotherapy Involve?
Physiotherapy can involve several different treatments and preventative approaches, depending on the individual.
This can also include:
- Advising and supporting around specialised equipment (from assessment to implementation): for example, helping with posture or walking, or helping you take part in an activity.
- Discussing, advising or teaching parents, carers and other adults who may be involved with the physical development of a child or young person- for example in a PE lesson or at the local gym using new equipment or working through exercises together; or at home working with carers to implement a new physiotherapy programme
Where your physiotherapy session takes place will depend entirely on where it is needed, this could be at home, a nursery or a school, sports centre, or hydrotherapy pool.
Physiotherapy tailored to each individual
We understand that each person’s body and circumstances are unique.
Our team of highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists are committed to delivering a bespoke service that addresses the unique needs of those we support. Physiotherapy extends beyond addressing physical limitations. We take a holistic approach to each individual, considering the interplay between physical, emotional and mental health factors, at home, school and other environments.
We strive to create personalised physiotherapy, planned with you, and centred on the physical challenges that are important or impactful for you.
