Meet the Team

Julie Booth

Occupational Therapist

Julie qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Coventry University in 1992. Julie has NHS clinical experience in a number of Occupational Therapy practice areas, including working with children, young people and adults with learning disabilities. Over the past 22 years Julie has lectured at Coventry University and part of her teaching role has been to teach on an undergraduate Occupational Therapy module, which focuses on the role of the occupational therapist working with people with learning disabilities.

Julie has also carried out collaborative applied research in clinical practice, working with a clinical colleague in a school for young people with severe and profound learning disabilities. Julie has recently gained a doctorate in philosophy and is committed to seeking opportunities to work and research in clinical practice.

INTERESTING FACTS

If you could travel back to one specific point in time, when would it be and why?

I would like to go back to the 1980’s as I loved the music and the style of clothing.

What’s your favourite time of year and why?

Autumn is my favourite time of the year because of the lovely colours of the leaves on the trees. It is also great to hear that crunch of the leaves as you walk around. I also really enjoy the bright, crisp, frosty mornings.

What is the best part of your job?

Working together with other professionals and the people who access the service, to enable participation in everyday meaningful activities.

What makes you happy?

Helping others. Spending time with family and friends. Spending time with my two cats. Walking. Doing craft activities, such as cross stitch, crochet and knitting

What are your Hobbies and Interests?

Walking, gardening, craft activities Going to the theatre and the cinema with friends and family
