Meet the Team

Jessica Harris

Speech & Language Therapist

Jessica qualified and started working as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2014. After graduating, she completed a month of volunteer work in Romania supporting orphaned children with complex needs. Upon her return, she started working for the NHS in Birmingham.

For five years Jessica managed a varied and complex caseload of children in community clinics. She also spent several years working as a specialist in a multi-disciplinary team, assessing preschool children for Autistic Spectrum Condition and Global Developmental Delay.

From 2019, Jessica spent 4 years working in another NHS role in a Warwickshire Special Educational Needs school, supporting children from nursery to secondary-school age, with communication needs due to their developmental or physiological conditions.

Jessica decided to start working independently and joined the Links Team in 2023. She enjoys working with a varied caseload but she has particular interest and experience in autism, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and phonology.

If you could travel back to one specific point in time, when would it be and why?

I am a big fan of The Beatles after growing up listening to them, so I would love to go back to the 60s and hear them play live at the Cavern Club!

What’s your favourite time of year and why?

I think autumn is my favourite. I love the colours, the weather and getting out the jumpers and scarves!

What is the best part of your job?

Developing special relationships with families as you work together and celebrate the small wins.

What makes you happy?

Watching my kids play and laugh together, listening to live music, a hot bubble bath and a book!

What are your Hobbies and Interests?

When I get the chance I love getting lost in a book, watching a film, or unwinding with some yoga.
